This week has flown by…

I have been so busy this week that it has just flown by! I can’t believe it’s Friday already. Jake took a 4 day weekend this weekend so it actually seems like the weekend started yesterday, maybe that’s why it feels like the week went so fast!

I have stayed home pretty much all week. I did run to town on Wednesday to the fabric stores and to pick up a few things for orders. Jakes parents took the kids swimming and to eat lunch so we were able to get some errands done and eat lunch with no kids for the first time this summer! Other than that I have been home working. I have a camera bag to finish today and 2 wallets to get done to get this order shipped then I have a Diaper Bag to make and I am done for the week. Once those are done this is what I will have completed this week

2 diapers bags
2 camera bags
a 3 pocket shooter
3 wallets

That’s a pretty decent week for me! And I was able to finish my last book from the Millennium Trilogy and then last book from The Darkest Powers Trilogy that I had borrowed from the library this week. This is the first time in months that I don’t have any books checked out from the library. I am starting on the next Terry Goodkind book in the Sword of Truth Series, Faith of the Fallen. I have had this for ages and I decided that it’s time to get caught up on this series so unless I get a notification for one of the new books I have on hold at the library, I will be working on this series. I still have 6 to go, I think!

I have a new addiction, I think!

I have been drinking one Rock Star Energy Drink a day and I am LOVING them. I don’t know how much energy they give me, but I know that I get something! We had a bunch of coupons to get them free at one of the convenience stores here so Jake got me a bunch of them. I only have 2 left then I will have to start buying them so we’ll see how much I really want them then! The one in the photo is actually my least favorite of all the ones I have tried. Something about the guava aftertaste… My favorites are the Cola and the Fruit Punch.

Oh, I scrapped this week too!! Just one page, but it’s a start!

No School Again!

At least we got 2 days in this week! It’s been SO cold here the past few days and it’s been snowing pretty much all day even though it doesn’t seem like we have gotten much in the way of accumulation. I went out to take a few pictures and I was out like maybe 5 minutes and my ears were frozen when I came back in. Jake had to work tonight and it’s supposed to get down to –7*, it will probably be below 0* when he leaves work. Looks like tomorrow will be another day indoors! I don’t mind, I have been reading a lot and I am almost caught up with all my laundry. It’s easier when the kids wear their PJ’s all day!

Seriously, it’s COLD here!!

I even scrapped my 1st week photos yesterday too!

Now I just have to keep up with it! We now have just over 900 members in the Facebook Group, so that will hopefully keep me on track. Only a small handful of us are actually posting any photos though. I don’t know if they are taking them and not posting or what…time will tell I guess.

I started watching Charmed again last night. I think I have seen maybe the first 5 seasons, then we moved and I didn’t have access to my cousins DVD’s so I quit watching. I have the seasons 1 & 2 right now so I am starting over and hopefully I will be able to get them all watched this time. I really want to watch Buffy and Angel over again too, but I have several seasons of stuff that I haven’t watched that I also want to watch so those will have to wait for awhile…maybe a year until I watch everything else. The kids and I started watching Doctor Who from the beginning too, so I think I am going to go watch a couple of those with them now. We are almost to the end of season one…waiting for David Tennant to come on! I don’t know if I am going to like this new Doctor…he just looks too young, but I am sure he will grow on me just like David did.

Blogging?

I am finding that with more and more people on Facebook that it’s harder for me to find the motivation to blog. I post on there off and on all day and I don’t feel like I have anything to blog about so I don’t. Maybe I need to make a point to use my blog as a journal and not just a place to put all the things I did or didn’t do each day.

Maybe I can combine all the blogs that I have started here and there and just keep this one and make it a blog of all trades, if you will. I have had various weight loss blogs over the years, I have a cooking blog that I don’t use much anymore even though I still cook a lot. I have a quilting blog that I haven’t really posted to that much. Maybe if I just make a point to post it all in here I will do better. I do need to find a better blog template though, because I want to be able to link to pages for recipes and stuff like that. Maybe I will look for one today and see what I can come up with.

In the meantime, here is a couple of scrapbook pages I have done this week. I haven’t scrapped in ages and I got CS4 about 2 months ago and I finally took the plunge and started to “try” to learn to scrap with it!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!

There is just no other way to put it! I have been so stinking busy, I don’t have much time to blog anymore. I am just going to re-cap what has been going on.

~~~Family~~~

At some point in the past month both Jake and I have been sick, in fact, I think I have been sick off and on for like 6 weeks now! The kids are all doing fine though, thankfully. They are out of school for the summer and to be honest I am already quite ready for school to start again! My cousin Jared got married on Saturday, the wedding was beautiful and we all had a great time getting to see everyone.

Well, there is not too much of that going on here. I think I have only scrapped one page in the past few weeks. Here it is…

~~~Sewing~~~

I am BUSY, there is just no other way to put it. I have enough projects lined up to keep my busy every day for almost 2 weeks. It’s awesome though, my name is getting out there and I am getting repeat business which is always good. I took some time out Friday to do some re-organizing and now my supplies are prettier and a little more accessible.

I got a request from a customer to re-cover some pads that are in her rocking chair. I was leery when I got started that I wouldn’t be able to do it, but I did and I am pretty proud of how well they turned out!

They are just sitting in my kitchen chair here.

I am behind on my quilt a long, but I will get caught up this week…I hope!

~~~Entertainment~~~

I FINALLY finished the newest Black Dagger Brotherhood book. It took me like 3 weeks, which is unheard of for me, but I have just been so busy. Jake and I also finished True Blood season 1. I am excited for season 2 even though we don’t have HBO…I will have to find a way to get a hold of the episodes anyway!

So on that note I am going to leave you with some pictures of my favorite vampires!

Playing catch up!

Man, it’s been a long time! I have been busy, busy, busy and I haven’t been feeling well and the kids have all been sick at some point in the past 3 weeks. It’s been crazy around here! I think I am going to update by category!

~~~New niece (yes, the 2nd one in a month!)…~~~

This is Makayla Drew and she is just a little doll. She was born on May 19th and was 7 pounds 7 ounces.

She has tons of hair, she is just too sweet!

One word – AWESOME! We were on the 2nd row and we just happened to be on the aisle that was the one he came to the stage on! Very cool!

I got some really good pictures, but I don’t want to overload this one post with too many! I wish we could have stayed in town overnight so we could have hung around after the show and tried to meet him, but we had to drive 2 hours home so it just wasn’t going to happen. On a bright note…when we were all standing waiting for him to come on stage some douche behind me spilled his beer in my seat! I had to spend the whole show on the edge of my seat…it was NOT comfortable.

~~~Sewing Stuff~~~

I am getting ready to do a quilt along and with it I have a chance to win a very cool sewing machine!

This is the fabric that I got to use for it. It’s all Heidi Grace from Joann’s. I think I am going to make it for Bailey.

The bottom fabric is going to be the binding. I am not sure what I am going to use for the backing yet, I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

I have been busy with purses and bags. I have done 4 just this week and I am waiting on fabric for 3 right now. I am going to do Krista’s messenger bag this weekend then when I get all my fabric in I still have 2 laptop bags and a backpack diaper bag to do! So, if I don’t post regularly you will know why!

More quilting, a new baby, and a lot of sickies!

First and most importantly, I am an aunt again!

Mollie Raine was born last Wednesday (4/29…exactly one month after my birthday!) at 1:15 pm. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces. She is a doll and she looks like her big sister Melonie, just a lot smaller! I haven’t gotten to see her since she was born because nearly all of us have been sick in the past week. Mine is just sinuses…maybe a touch of bronchitis, but all 3 kids have had a 12 hour period of the stomach flu…NOT fun! Bailey and Colton are home from school today, but they will be going back tomorrow.

Now on to the quilting. I finished this up on Saturday night.

Vintage Primary (for Luke)

It turned out really good and I think the blue really makes it pop! I am already thinking about my next quilt project. This is what is on tap next…I am taking a HUGE step going from coins to pinwheels! I have NO idea who it will be for, but I will find someone I am sure!

I did get one scrap page done this week…sad, I know, but I have been busy!

I think that maybe I need to do some pages of my kids! The older they get the harder it is to get good pictures of them!

I am starting the DANE countdown…11 days till I am sitting on the 2nd row at Sprint Center in KC MO…I am SOOOOO excited!

In a funk, but I am scrapping again

I don’t know what is going on, but I am just not feeling good lately and I don’t feel like doing anything. Maybe it’s because I know that I have so much to do and it’s overwhelming me to the point that I don’t want to do any of it. I have 2 tote bags, a purse an overnight bag and cosmetic bag that I need to get done this week. I am frustrated and I think maybe I just need to vent. I don’t get any orders for weeks at a time and then I talk to people and answer e-mails and send invoices, etc… and wait and wait for payment from some to the point that I think maybe they changed their minds and then I get the payments all at once and it’s just all piled up. So that is where I am at this week…2 big orders to get done, along with Easter. I already decided to buy Bailey’s Easter dress instead of making it. I waited till this week to make it and then these orders came through and it got put on the back burner…that’s what you get for procrastinating I guess. I am likely not going to get all these bags done this week though, but that’s how it goes…I just have to do what I can. Oh and I am making Easter cake pops for the Easter dinner on Sunday…those are going to be so fun, the kids want to help with them.

I have started scrapping again. I have done a few pages this past few days.

I actually have one more, but I can’t share that one yet, it was a CT kit that isn’t coming out until Thursday.

Not too much else going on here. I really need to get to work though…

Had a bad day…

This day was just not a good one! I don’t know why, it just wasn’t. I have been reading most of the day and that makes it a little better.

I have also stayed within my WW points target all day and I have tracked my food with e-tools all day and that is good. I signed up for the Weekly Pass on Friday because I got a promo thing to get my first month 1/2 off. In the end it will be several dollars cheaper a week and I have access to the online tools and I think that will be a big help for me. On the down side, I missed my meeting this week because I was having an Arbonne party, but that’s okay, I wasn’t really looking forward to weighing in anyway, it wasn’t a good week for me at all! I am back on track today and that is what really matters now. Hopefully I will have a good weigh-in this week.

I don’t have any new scraps to share today. I haven’t been in the mood to scrap much. ADSR is over and while I am sure we won’t win, we did win a lot of cool stuff for doing all of the challenges. In other scrap news, after 2.5 years I have stepped down from the Digi Dare team. I was the only remaining original member left and it just didn’t feel like home to me anymore. It was something that was hard and I had to really think long and hard about it, but I feel good about my decision to leave. I have so much going on right now and I just needed to lighted the load a little bit.

Well, I have some Battlestar Galactica to watch and a book that is nearly finished waiting for me!

Is it too early to be excited?

I don’t think it is!! Only 9 months from today… Are you going to be in the theatre opening night? I know I will!!

I have been reading a lot lately and I came across a new (to me) series, thanks Mandy, called The Vampire Diaries. I have read the 1st book so far which is actually 2 books in one. I don’t know if they were released individually at some point, but anyway…there are 2 more, 2 part books that I am hunting down today. They were a little similar to Twilight, just little hints here and there, basic plot stuff. Boy vampire, human girl fall in love after he tries unsuccessfully to stay away from her. He is not a “bad” vampire, he doesn’t kill people, only drinks animal blood, etc… This is an oldie too, the original was written in 1991 and has become popular again recently due to the Twilight series being so popular and people clamoring to find other good vampire books to read! Anyway, if you are looking for a good series, check it out.

In the meantime, I have picked up the Wizards First Rule again and I am about 3/4 through it now. It’s a good one, I need to try to find the 2nd in the series, the bookstore here never has it for some reason.
