Shelly 1. { easy like sunday morning } – explored, 2. Cor de doce, 3. hello. , 4. .ninety-four. [bendy straws], 5. Misturinha xD, 6. My manicure, my nail polish, my lock and my bike, 7. Sinful Colors: Pink Forever, 8. Nails & Burning Man Toes, 9. My Pretty Nails, 10. Psychedelic Nails, 11. day 71…’tis the season, 12. .this little painted piggy.
This week is all about nails…I love fingernail polish. LOVE it, but to keep my nails looking nice all the time I have to re-paint them about every 3 days. That’s SO annoying! I have tried everything (well, probably not everything), but barring acrylic nails, every polish I have used chips and peels on my nails. The good thing about that is that I get to try lots of different colors! Right now my nails are alternating China Glaze Make and Entrance (bright pink) and Shower Together (kind of a dark aqua). I have been alternating colors all summer, my favorite combination is an apple green and a pretty pink, but the green polish turns my nails yellow! I have to keep them painted all the time after that or they look weird with every other nail being yellowed…YUCK! Another thing that makes having to paint them so often not so bad is the OPI Quick Dry top coat I got earlier this summer. They dry super quick with that so I don’t have to sit and wait for them to dry for so long.
Do you have any tips for me for keeping my polish nice longer? What do you use or do you just have nice nails that don’t chip?! What is your favorite polish brand and color? I am loving that yellow in the 4th photo and the aqua in the 5th…I am having a horrible time finding that color anywhere…
BTT: Giving Up

Shelly If you’re not enjoying a book, will you stop mid-way? Or do you push through to the end? What makes you decide to stop?
I used to always try to finish a book if I started it, but anymore it’s just not worth it to try to read something that I am not enjoying. If it feels like a chore to read a book, that’s when I give it up! I try to only choose books that I know I will enjoy, especially if I am buying them.

Shelly this one is pretty obvious!
1. Ms Tattoo, 2. Dancing in pink, 3. miss holly. , 4. silje
I know that there are a lot of people out there who don’t like tattoos…I am not one of those people. I have always been fascinated by tattoos. I don’t have any…yet. I may never get one, but I do want one. I have wanted one for years. One of my favorite shows to watch is LA Ink and I love Kat Von D, but if I had to choose someone from LA Ink to do my tattoo I would choose Dan Smith. He is incredible!
What would I get? I don’t know for sure, I change my mind from time to time. I always wanted the “Godsmack” sun, I know that’s not what it’s called, on my lower back, but I think that’s a little too cliché at this point. Right now I want something on the back of my neck, under my hair, I think a skull with a pink bow (like my logo!). I would also like to get the A7X deathbat somewhere, something small…maybe on my foot or inside my ankle. That one has to be pink too…for sure!
I know some people think they are trashy, but I don’t care….I think a guy with tattoos is hot! I mean come on…
I know I am not the only one….!

Shelly hmmm, I wonder what the theme for this week is!!
1. Flea Market Fancy – giveaway!, 2. MMmmm.. Orla Kiely, 3. Fabrics, 4. Fabric storage, 5. Sunday Stash #55, 6. sunday stash #10, 7. New Kaffe Fabrics, 8. Sunday Stash # 3, 9. Sunday Stash #52, 10. 37.365 (Sunday Stash), 11. New Stash for a New Year, 12. I admit it…., 13. a fabric lead!, 14. Blog Give-A-Way… I’m turning One!, 15. mystery quilt retreat fabric!
The theme this week is fabric, stacks and stacks of beautiful bright fabric. I just love fabric and I love to see it all stacked up in piles like in these photos. I am especially loving that bright blue room up there in photo #4. That cabinet with all the bins, and tins and boxes is just incredible. If I ever am lucky enough to have a really awesome sewing room all to myself I am definitely painting it that color! I love that color combo too, you see those colors in alot of the photos that I favorite on flickr. I take pictures of my fabrics when I get them, but in most cases they aren’t as pretty as these, but only because they are for so many different projects so they are fabrics that don’t really go together. It I were buying for a quilt they would be just this pretty! I only wish I had time for a quilt….
I have errands to run today and I don’t really want to go anywhere at all…if I could send Jake to get the stuff I need I totally would. I don’t want to even go to the fabric store! I also have to drop off some fabric to be embroidered. I think Jake is going to take the kids swimming for one last time before school starts next week. We have a birthday party tonight for my niece Sydney who turns 6 today, then tomorrow night is a 60th wedding anniversary party for Jakes Grandparents. Lots going on this weekend. I have a camera bag to do today and then I MUST get Bailey’s messenger bag done tomorrow or I am going to be behind again…
I am having a sale at Pink Punk Boutique this weekend…a Back To School Sale! Everything in the store is 15% off until Midnight(CST) on Sunday. If you have been wanting to order something, do it now while it’s on sale!!!
Well, I gotta go make a list of the zippers I need to get today! FUN!! Have a good weekend!

Shelly Have your reading choices changed over the years? Or pretty much stayed the same? (And yes, from childhood to adulthood we usually read different things, but some people stick to basically the same kind of book their entire lives, so…)
My reading choices have changed quite a bit over the years. I have always liked a good romantic story, even when I was younger. When I was in my twenties, all the way through, I would read only historic romance novels. Like really, that’s all I would read unless it was something for a class in college. I didn’t like anything that was set in modern times. I eventually started reading some of Nora Robert’s fantasy trilogies, set in modern times but with a twist of fantasy, still romance though. About 3 and a half years ago I kept seeing Stephanie Meyer’s name everywhere. All my on-line friends were reading the Twilight series so I caved and bought the 1st book, within a week I had read the first 3 and was left waiting 8 months for the last one to be released. By that time, I had discovered a genre that I had never given a second thought. Since that time I have read at least 300 books, probably no less that 25 different series and the majority of them have been in the genre of fantasy/horror/sci-fi. I will not say that my tastes have “evolved”, but I can’t stomach a historic romance anymore unless it has some element of fantasy thrown in like the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. And I do like to read some more recent bestsellers like the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson, I did really enjoy those. I am starting to branch out a bit!

Shelly Can you guess what my theme is today?! It’s really not that hard!
1. Pink Petals, 2. pink room, 3. pretty in pink 1950s kitchen, 4. ~Love Wrap In A Bubble~, 5. Standing on a Pink stool, wearing pink shoes, pink socks, a pink tutu, in front of a pink house… This is a true story! HBM, 6. Pink Easter twig, 7. H O N E Y C H I L D, 8. The other side of my sewing/craft room, 9. Georgia’s Quilt, 10. spring is coming…….., 11. Matt pink and red Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 Super Velocé!!!, 12. Pink Magic…., 13. stinkin’ pink, 14. Sewing Corner, 15. Princess in pink
Did you figure it out?! I don’t know when I started liking pink, I don’t think that I always have, it’s something that’s developed as I have gotten older. Now if you give me a choice of anything and there is something pink there…that’s what I will choose nearly every time. Looking at Elsie’s pink hair up there in photo 10 really makes me want to do all my hair pink. Maybe if I was skinny and cute like she is I would…!
I decided last night what I am going to do with my Swap hexes and I started stitching the big ones together. I may work on it a little this weekend, if I have time. I have a camera bag I need to get done this weekend too. This particular order has a camera strap and Zippy Wristlet as well and I had to re-order the little clips for the wristlet and more webbing for my camera strap ends, so I can’t finish the order completely, but if I get the camera bag done and everything else cut out and sewn to the point where I need the hardware it will be an easy thing to finish up.
This weekend is tax free weekend here in Missouri. I know that I can’t be the only one out there who waits until the last minute to get the kids school supplies. We have not got anything of their lists yet. Every year we wait until the last minute and end up scrambling around to find everything only to get to school the first week and find out that half the stuff on the list they didn’t even need! I know we are going to get them some school clothes this weekend…I don’t even want to think of all the school supplies we need to buy! Now I am really wishing we had pre-ordered the school supply kits at the end of last year.
I finished Linger last night. I have had if for a week, but I had a book from the library that was a 7 day loan so I had to read it first! I like in the Kindle that I can see the % of the book that I have read. When I started last night I was at 47% and I was up until 12:30 finishing it! Now I have to decide what to read next. I have a nice little list to choose from though! I spent WAY too much time yesterday going through all the books that I have read in the past few years and finding out when the new books to each series are coming out. So much time that I decided to make a list and add it to my blog! You can see my book lists here, or from the Books link that up up at the very top. You can also see a list of all the books I have read in the past almost 2 years.
Well, I have things that need to be done…have a great Friday!
